These tracks were made in order to share a love of sounds, rhythms, and melodies, as I hear and experience them. They’re also made as a reminder to myself that time taken to stop, listen, and to reward my focus, is a good thing.
I found myself manipulating the field recordings gathered for this album far more than previously. I used looping and layering as experimental techniques to discover new sounds within the recordings. I’ve also enjoyed the randomness from experimenting with the sound manipulation software, Cecilia.
I’ve also revisited old recordings, and places, to make new work. Crag Well, and Chichibu (from Field Recordings) are both revisited directly, and a previous recording from Ardrossan (Field Recordings Volume Two) gets incorporated into ‘I can do that for quite a while if you want’.
I hope you find something to enjoy in the tracks presented here.
The field recordings on this album were recorded by The Argent Grub in the Bradford district (UK), The Yorkshire Dales (UK), and in Chichibu, Japan (via Locus Sonus), except where stated.
