Jehanne combines her love of European and popular music to craft songs that speak to the heart.
With a voice reminiscent of Stacey Kent, Pomplamoose and the iconic French singer Francoise Hardy, her songs draw you into emotive worlds of love, longing, and contradiction. Her upbringing in a world complicated by the mental health issues of those around her can sometimes be glimpsed in the lyrics.
Influences span hard rock, acoustic ballads, mellow soul vibes, classical, dance and rap.
Based in Leeds in the UK, Jehanne has also lived in central France, and Paris. A perfect morning would be with croissants, fromage and ‘un petit café’ watching the world go by, under a Parisien sun.
Jehanne has been writing and recording demo songs with friends on and off for a number of years. A chance meeting with The Argent Grub (David Carpenter) has resulted in a collaboration that has led to some new music being recorded and some old demos being reworked into tracks for release.
