Lianne Hall's solo performance of Walk.
Lianne was described by John Peel as "One of the great English voices", and I've been a fan since I first heard her voice on one of his annual Festive Fifty shows.
The simplicity of Lianne's approach to the tracks on her album, Abandon Ship, was a big influence on me when it came to writing Walk, so on a whim, and with very little expectation, I sent it to her to see if she wanted the song, and to see whether she could make something of it.
Unbelievably, she liked it and the results of our collaboration are shared here.
We settled on the idea of a duet (track 1), but I also wanted the world to hear her amazing full vocal, so that is also provided here.
Lyrics
Will you take a walk with me
By the river
By the sea
Through the woods, and
Through the trees
Across the meadow
Feel the breeze
While we can?
Hold me close
Hold me tight
Turn your face to the light
Feel the heat of
Burning sand
Kiss my lips
Hold my hand
While we can
